【摘要】:Thistestmethodisameasureofthesolubilityofpolymer-modifiedasphaltintoluene.Theportionthatissolubleintoluenerepresentstheactivecementingconstituents.Additionalteststocharacterizetheinsolubleresiduemaybeconducted.Suchtestsmightincludeinfraredspectroscopy,microscopy,ashcontent,andsoforth.Note18212;Thequalityoftheresultsproducedbythisstandardaredependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingtheprocedureandthecapability,calibration,andmaintenanceoftheequipmentused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofSpecificationD3666aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/etc.UsersofthisstandardarecautionedthatcompliancewithSpecificationD3666alonedoesnotcompletelyassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors;followingthesuggestionsofSpecificationD3666orsomesimilaracceptableguidelineprovidesameansofevaluatingandcontrollingsomeofthesefactors.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationofthedegreeofsolubilityofasphaltbindersintolueneusingcentrifugalseparation.ThemethodisanalternativetoTestMethodD2042,andmaybepreferabletoTestMethodD2042whentestingmodifiedasphaltbinders.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthestandard.1.4Acompleteprecisionstatementforthisstandardhasnotbeendevelopedatthistime.Therefore,thisstandardshouldnotbeusedforacceptanceorrejectionofamaterialforpurchasingpurposes.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
